Bob Hedrick
Born in Knox County, he is married to
the former Shirley McDonald. They are the parents of Sam, Debbie, and Kathy
Dixon. Bob and Shirley now reside in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Bob started
shooting in 1968 and has registered over 170,000 targets. He broke his first
100 straight singles in 1974 at the state shoot and had won nine more state
shoots by 1997.
Bob won
State Handicap Championships in 1988, 1990 and 1991. He won 11 Doubles State
Championships from 1983 to 1994 and 9 State All Around
Championships from 1977 to 1991.
In 1973 he
made the 27-yard line at the Southern Zone Shoot at Henry Horton. He was the
Southern Zone Doubles Champion and the High All Around
Champion in 1978, 1984, and 1989.
Bob has won
many championships at the Grand American. He was AA Class Runner-up in 1982. He
was AA Class Champion and High Over All AA Class
Champion in 1987.
Bob made the
Ail-American Team 1st Team 1988 and the All American Team 2nd Team 4 times from
1985 to 1990. He placed 4th in 1986 and 5th in 1991 for the Trap & Field
High Average Award.
After a
serious health problem and a short retirement from shooting Bob came back
strong. He once again distinguished himself by placing seventh in the Trap
& Field Handicap in 1998 while shooting from the 27-yard line.
